Annual fundraiser for Ag Against Hunger raises more than $14,000

An annual fundraiser for Ag Against Hunger raised more than $14,000 this year, the organization said.

The fundraiser, “New York Express,” is held every October. This year, a truckload of donated iceberg lettuce, celery and cauliflower from Salinas was sold at Hunt’s Point in New York City.

Produce was donated by Ocean Mist Farms, The Nunes Company, Steinbeck Country Produce, Taylor Farms, Tanimura and Antle and Dole Fresh Vegetables.

The fundraiser benefits Ag Against Hunger’s fall and winter produce distribution programs and helps fill the salad bars for local schools through the organization’s More Produce for Schools program.
