Man accused of shooting at kids with BB gun in Pacific Grove

A 42-year-old man was arrested in Pacific Grove Monday after he was reportedly shooting at children with a BB gun.

Pacific Grove police officers were called to Arkwright Circle around 6 p.m. There they found Leif Rowan arguing with residents of the apartment complex.

Witnesses told police Rowan had been shooting at kids with the BB gun, hitting one child but not causing injury. They said he then threatened to hit a resident while brandishing a metal horseshoe, battered a 16-year-old and was ultimately restrained by the teen’s father.

Rowan was booked in Monterey County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
