Tour de Fresh kicks off: Cyclists will raise money for school salad bars

Ocean Mist Farms and U.S. Congressman Sam Farr helped send off cyclists for the inaugural Tour De Fresh bike ride Monday morning.

Riders from the fresh produce industry are raising money for school salad bars by cycling over 250 miles to the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit in Anaheim over the next three days.

Ocean Mist Farms has two riders, John Pattullo and Paul Scheid. Monday’s event in Carmel was attended by Ocean Mist mascot Arti the Artichoke.

Tour de Fresh will raise funds that will benefit the Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools campaign. For more information about the ride, click here.
