Seven arrested in gang suppression operation in Greenfield, Gonzales

The Gonzales, Soledad, Greenfield and King City Police Departments participated in a Cal-Grip gang suppression operation on Friday.

The operation targeted gang participants who are engaging a pattern of criminal activity which jeopardized the health, safety and security of community residents.

The team conducted a compliance check at the home of a known probationer on Fifth Street in Gonzales. When they arrived, a subject fled into the home.

Officers followed the man, identified as Raul De La Cruz. Inside the home, they also found Cesar Medina as he was trying to flush illegal drugs down the toilet.

The following arrests were made:

Cesar Media, 21, of Gonzales, on suspicion of destruction of evidence and violating probation
Raul De La Cruz, 22, of Gonzales on suspicion of violating probation and delaying an officer
Martin Lara, 22, of Gonzales, on suspicion of violating the terms of his release and possessing drug paraphernalia
Olivia Lujan, 23, of Gonzales, on suspicion of disobeying a court order

During the operation the following other subjects were arrested:

Oscar Rios, 35, of Salinas, on suspicion of possessing meth, driving without a license and not having a front license plate
Margarito Escudero Antonio, 31, of Salinas, on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia
Gustavo Mora Rios, 34, of Greenfield, on suspicion of possession of deadly weapon-butterfly knife, possession of drug paraphernalia, destruction of evidence, committing a felony while out on bail and violating probation.
