Police activity in the area of Buena Vista Drive near Watsonville

Officers are wrapping up a search in the area of 50 Buena Vista Drive just outside Watsonville city limits.

Watsonville police, California Highway Patrol officers and Santa Cruz County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a subject Tuesday morning. After clearing one residence, they are now going door to door searching for the individual.

The residence in question is known to Watsonville police, officers said.

Neighbors had called to report there was a man chasing a woman with a knife on Buena Vista Drive, according to authorities.

As of about 9:45 a.m., officers moved their search to the apple orchards behind the home on Freedom Boulevard. They were unable to find the subject.

Buena Vista was closed between Calabasas Road and Freedom Boulevard.
