UC Santa Cruz researchers launch new Ebola website

Researchers at UC Santa Cruz have launched a new website focused on Ebola, along with what’s known as a genome browser.

A genome browser is “a graphical interface for display of information from a biological database for genomic data.” It’s mean to help global researchers as they work to develop a vaccine and stop the virus from spreading.

The UC Santa Cruz Genomics Institute released the browser and accompanying website Tuesday, just as the news came that a case of Ebola had been detected at a Texas hospital.

The researcher team has been working around the clock for the past week, working with international partners to gather and present the most current data.

The site (click here) also include links to relevant scientific literature on the virus.
