SPCA warns about leaving pets in hot cars

3 someone else to be on the lookout for during hot weather — your pets! the spca for monterey county set up a thermometer in a car to test the heat. the temp went above 100 degrees in less than 15 minutes! and it’s only going to get hotter this week. 3 *everybody likes to bring their animals with them when they go shopping, but you need to be very careful and leave pets at home this week. even parking in the shade for 10 minutes can have dire consequences* the spca wants to remind people — its illegal to keep a pet in a hot car! if you see an animal in a car in distress, call the spca or 911!
