Roadwork in Santa Cruz County planned for the week of Sept. 22

The Santa Cruz County Department of Public Works is continuing with a number of roadwork projects that may cause delays for some motorists.

The following projects will be starting next week:

Branciforte Drive, at post mile 5.06, will be subject to traffic delays with lane closures beginning Monday, Sept. 22 through Friday, Dec. 5, weather permitting. The 24-hour per day lane closure with temporary signals that is currently in place will continue for the duration of the project. These delays and lane closures are necessary for storm damage repairs. Delays could be up to 30 minutes.
Empire Grade Road, from Santa Cruz City Limits through 0.79 miles north of Heller Drive, will be subject to traffic delays with lane closures between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Sept. 22-24. Motorists should anticipate delays of up to 45 minutes.
Park Drive, from Highway 9 to the end of Park Drive, will be subject to intermittent closures between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22.
17th Avenue from Felt Street to Brommer Street will be subject to traffic delays with possible lane closures starting Sept. 24 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The sewer improvement project is expected to continue through early 2015.
