Salinas police investigate an attempted murder Saturday

Salinas police say a 23-year-old man was shot Saturday night in the area of Curtis Street and Rodeo Avenue.

Police say the victim was walking down the street when a vehicle drove up. One of the occupants then shot at him multiple times and drove off.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Police say they believe the shooting is gang-related.
