Nearly 200 local immigrants sworn-in as citizens Tuesday in Pacific Grove

Nearly 200 people from 26 nations were sworn in as U.S. citizens at Asilomar Tuesday.

The swearing-in of 194 new American citizens marked the first time the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has held a ceremony in Pacific Grove.

Pacific Grove City Council member Casey Lucius was the guest speaker at this event. She is an associate professor at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey.
