Meredith Ibarra recalled from Alisal Union School Board

Voters have ousted Meredith Ibarra from the Alisal Union School Board for area one by nearly 72 percent of the vote, according to the Monterey County Elections.

She was served recall papers earlier this year.

Estrella Thoeni, 20, was elected unopposed to replace her and serve out the rest of Ibarra’s term.

“I know how children learn, I know how adults learn and I do know this area,” Thoeni said. “I’ve been here my entire life.”

Thoeni currently works at the Cesar Chavez Library.
