Gilroy man killed in motorcycle crash Tuesday evening in Morgan Hill

A Gilroy man died Tuesday night after he lost control of his motorcycle, went off the roadway and struck a large oak tree.

The California Highway Patrol said the 27-year-old was riding his Honda motorcycle on Sycamore Avenue near Oak Glen Avenue in Morgan Hill when the accident occurred.

It wasn’t immediately known how fast he was going and there were no witnesses to the 7 p.m. crash. He was wearing a helmet, but he died on scene. Drugs and alcohol aren’t believed to have been factors.
