Salinas Police seeking suspect in carjacking on North Madeira Avenue

Salinas police are seeking a suspect who they say stole a car sometime after midnight Monday – with a passenger still inside.

The car was parked on North Madeira Avenue when the suspect got into the driver’s seat with a gun and told the victim he needed a ride somewhere. The victim was in the rear passenger seat.

After driving just 100 yards, the suspect left the victim out and then took off in the car.

The car is a white ’97 Honda Civic with a spoiler and a cracked front bumper; license plate number 7BAS807.

Few details were released about the suspect other than that he has a circular tattoo on the right side of his neck
