Updated: Armed robber steals from Santa Cruz store

Santa Cruz police need the public’s help in identifying an armed robber who used a semi-automatic handgun to steal a carton of cigarettes from a 7-11 nearly two weeks ago.

Police said on August 20, a man walked into the store on Mission Street just before 3:30 a.m.

Detectives obtained photos from the video surveillance in the store.

The photos show the suspect entering the store and then walking behind the counter and taking the cigarettes from the clerk.

The suspect took off toward Swift Street.

The suspect is described as:
White Male Adult Late 20’s to Mid 30’s
Approx. 6 feet – 175 lbs
Goatee beard and moustache
Possible Tattoo on neck (calligraphy style writing)
Dark Pants
Blue & White Checked Shirt
Blue Bandanna
Sunglasses
