Monterey police use Taser on girl, 14, at county fair

Two teen girls are accused of assaulting two officers at the Monterey County Fair on Saturday around 9:30 p.m.

Monterey police said when an officer tried to investigate reports of a fight, the 16-year-old tried to intervene and pushed him away from the 14-year-old they were trying to detain.

An officer used his Taser on the 14-year-old, investigators said, after she jumped on another officer who was on the ground trying to take the 16-year-old into custody.

The girls were charged, issued citations and released to adult relatives.
