Top Chef Duels contestant competing for Monterey Bay Aquarium

Celebrity chef Richard Blais is competing on a new reality television show for the possible benefit of the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Blais, a former Top Chef winner, is on a new show on the Bravo network called Top Chef Duels, which pits past contestants of the eponymous show against one another.

The new show premiered Wednesday, August 6.

According to the Bravo network, “in each episode, two chefs will face-off in three rounds of head-to-head battles testing their skill, creativity and speed. In the end, only one chef will earn bragging rights and win the $100,000 grand prize and a culinary adventure that will be featured in Food and Wine Magazine.”

There’s another twist too. These chefs aren’t just competing in the kitchen. Each week, the chef with the most viewer votes will win $5,000 for the charity of their choice.
