Crews repairing broken water line on Rider Avenue in Salinas

Crews are working to repair a water main that broke just after 1 p.m. Thursday on Rider Avenue.

The 12-inch main broke after tree roots cracked the pipes, according to ALCO Water.

Several homes were without water while it was being repaired, and an estimated 300,000 gallons of water had leaked as of Thursday afternoon.
