San Lorenzo Water District manager fired after Grand Jury releases critique

The district manager for the San Lorenzo Valley Water District was fired just days after the Santa Cruz County Grand Jury released a report criticizing the district for poor financial and operation oversight.

District manager Jim Mueller was let go Thursday night during a unanimous board decision.

The civil grand jury’s report specifically looked at Mueller and his role in overseeing a multi-million investment portfolio, among other scrutiny.

Despite this latest development, the water district’s merge with Lompico is still on the table.

The grand jury’s full report can be viewed here.
