Salinas doctor arrested for wife’s murder in Gilroy

Gilroy Police have arrested one of two suspects they say murdered Doris Knapp in her home at the beginning of April. They’re still searching for a second suspect.

Knapp suffered fatal trauma to her upper body and was found at her home on Bristlecone Court in Gilroy on April 1.

This week, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office charged her husband German Baldeon with murder.

Gilroy police arrested Baldeon at home Thursday. Officers also attempted to arrest a second man, David Galvez, but could not locate him.

Baldeon is listed as an employee of the Clinica de Salud del Valle in Salinas.

Dr. Max Cuevas, the clinic’s CEO, said the clinic will “continue to provide excellent care for its patients” and a new doctor will be assigned to Baldeon’s patients.

Cuevas said that due to employee confidentiality issues, he could not comment further on Baldeon or the investigation.

Police have not yet released a motive or said what the connection between the two men is.

Gilroy detectives are actively searching for Galvez at this time.
