Watsonville Man Arrested For Shooting 13 Year Old

Watsonville Police arrested a 20-year-old Wednesday in connection with the shooting of a 13-year-old boy outside of his home two weeks ago.

On Friday February 14, 2014 police were dispatched to reports of a 13-year-old boy shot in the head near his home on Loughead Street near the Pajaro River levee.

The boy was confronted by two men as he was going to the store to buy some food. The boy said the men pulled out a gun and shot him, then took off.

Wednesday police got probable cause to arrest Joel Solorzano and serve a search warrant at his home on Coolidge Street in Watsonville.

The 13-year-old is being treated in a Bay Area Trauma Center and will eventually need a prosthetic eye.
