Popular Capitola BookStore Closes

A beloved central coast bookstore will be closing it’s doors Friday.

An employee of the Capitola Book Cafe says it’s all because of simple economics, or people just don’t buy from independent bookstores anymore.

She says fewer people are buying books because of the advanced technology like e-readers. That means independent book stores like the Capitola Book Cafe have a hard time staying afloat.

The Capitola Book Cafe will have a community bash tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the store to auction off some of their iconic artwork. There will also be an open mic and a place to relive the memories of the store.
