How Trump’s economic promises are holding up so far

(CNN) — On the campaign trail in 2024, Donald Trump made a series of bold promises to voters about how he would rapidly drive down the cost of living and transform the US economy if they sent him back to the White House.
Trump’s economic message resonated with a US public exhausted by years of high inflation during the Biden era.
Two years later, some of those promises – such as a booming stock market and cheaper eggs – have been delivered. But many others have come up far short, so far at least, underscoring why Trump is deeply underwater on the economy in polling.
