Doorbell camera shows woman in Arcadia running for help, dragged away

Ring security video shows a woman running for help before being dragged away kicking and screaming by her estranged ex-boyfriend, according to KION’s sister station in Los Angeles.

The woman ran to the first home she saw with a visible porch light, but screamed as the man caught up to her and dragged her off the porch and through the front lawn.

Arcadia police said the woman’s ex-boyfriend, 27-year-old Michael Mendez pulled the woman to another home.

Officers said someone in the neighborhood sent them a link to the video, so police canvassed the area and eventually found the home and the woman Monday afternoon.

Arcadia police said she was held at the home overnight, and her injuries were severe enough that she was taken to the hospital.

Mendez was arrested and charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment and other charges.
