Tree crushes car with man inside it, in Sand City

A tree toppled over in Sand City and landed on a car with a man and a dog inside, late Wedesday night.

Roger Brown tells KION that he and his dog Cinnamon were not injured, but the car was crushed.

“Next thing I know, I heard a big ‘bang’ and my roof came in. I had to call 911 for them to claw the door and get me out,” Brown said.

Brown’s pickup truck was parked on Sand Dunes Drive, on the street, in front of the Monterey Tides hotel.
