What Salinas rental registry would mean for landlords and renters

A new rental registry and inspection proposal was passed by Salinas City Council last week. The council approved a study looking into a potential rental registry and inspection program.

The goal of the program is to hold landlords accountable for better housing stock and fair practices. Landlords would be required to have their home inspected and registered with the city.
