California Blue Angels kick off new year in Salinas

Monday morning a fresh crew of pilots made a pit stop at the Salinas Municipal Airport for a winter welcoming with California International Airshow Salinas staff.

Both pilots started out just a couple of months ago with the Blue Angels crew and are ready to take part in what is a tradition for the California air show.

Pilots talked about the rush of flying the aircraft of their dreams.

“Flying one of these guys is great. It’s really a rush to be up there in the air and seeing this piece of equipment that the maintainers worked so hard to keep up to keep running, it’s a lot of fun.”

This winter visit from the Blue Angels is a premier for the real airshow performances. The California International Airshow Salinas is scheduled to start March 23 and 24 th .
