Highway 1 at Mud Creek and Paul’s Slide closed starting Monday

UPDATE 1/13/2019 12:17 p.m. Caltrans will be closing Highway 1 near Mud Creek and Paul’s Slide starting Monday at 12:00 p.m.

The road will be closed because a significant storm is expected to pass through the area.

Nobody will be able to use the road until Emergency Services or Caltrans can assess the area and make sure it’s safe to use.

PREVIOUS STORY: Highway 1 from Ragged Point to Deetjens is reopened after rocks fell in the area, but Highway 1 could experience more closures in the coming days.

Caltrans says the areas around Mud Creek and Paul’s Slide will be affected by a significant storm due to start by tomorrow morning, so the area may be closed starting mid-day Monday.

Caltrans will send out the final notice sometime today with more information about the possible closure.

Maintenance and Construction crews will be on call for inspections and clean up.
