Two people in hospital after alleged drunk driver crashes into tree and pole

Two people are in the hospital following a suspected DUI incident.

CHP officials say 25-year-old Tyler Sweeney was driving on Bear Creek Road in Santa Cruz when he swerved off the roadway, into an embankment and struck a tree and utility pole.

Both Sweeney and his passenger 29-year-old Justin Huston were transported to a hospital for their injuries.

Sweeney was arrested for suspicion of Felony DUI (causing injury).
