Central Coast law enforcement officials attend memorial for Cpl Ronil Singh

Law enforcement officials from around California honored fallen Newman Police Corporal, Ronil Singh, Saturday morning at a memorial service in Modesto.

A procession of about 50 patrol cars and motorcycles were driven by law enforcement from Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties.

Marina Police Department Commander Eddie Anderson tells KION, “we started out on this agenda to participate in Corporal Singh’s services, today. And then you actually arrive and you listen to the stories from the family and his co-workers and the community. And then you leave there remembering Ronil. He was a very decent man and human being, outside of law enforcement.”

Singh was tragically shot and killed during a traffic stop on December 26th. The suspect shooter, Gustavo Arriaga was arrested a few days later, along with multiple others, and is being charged with murder.

The Central Coast departments gathered near Pacheco Pass Highway before continuing on to Modesto.
