Catching up with 311 at Cali Roots

KION caught up with 311 at the Cali Roots Fest to chat with them about everything from being back in Monterey to perform, to what it means seeing their music stand the test of time.

Thousands flocked to Monterey for the festival, one of the biggest reggae festivals in the United States.

The event mixes music and art, bringing out some of the biggest names in reggae music.

KION caught up with one of the big names taking the stage tonight…311.

This is the band’s second time playing the Cali Roots Festival and they say, with the rich history of the venue, they love being in Monterey.

“It’s unparalleled to see the spot on the stage where Jimmy Hendrix burned his guitar and play in that iconic bowl, there’s really nothing that can compare to that as far as a venue that has that much history on it,” says Nick Hexum.
