Club 15 at Pebble Beach Pro-Am celebrates 15th year at the tournament

Golf fans are usually known for their subtle clapping and cheers, but all bets are off at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am’s 15th hole.

That’s where you find Club 15, co-founder Scott Larson says the club has been out at the tournament for 15 years cheering on the Amateur players. “This is our 15th year for Club 15 so we call it 15 for 15.”

What started with humble beginnings has turned into something more, Larson says, “the key is, after 15 years, we have to do something responsible. This is a very special year, we have all USA colors, very pro-America and we’re sponsoring the stand up for cancer. We’re getting older and we’re getting more and more people that have been effected by cancer. It’s one generation away and I think to turn this into a positive, to turn this in to a fundraiser and keeping awareness alive is really important.”

Larson says the Club’s goal is to raise 1 million dollars, “we’re going to look at things all around the year to continue the progress we’re making now.”

While the fans have an awesome time each year, some players say they love it just as much. Country artists, Toby Kieth and Clay Walker, tell KION it’s their favorite hole, “It’s my favorite, they’re here every year great party.”

“This is the greatest hole because it’s all about the people, ya know that’s what this tournament is all about,” says Walker.

Actor Josh Duhamel and Quarterback Aaron Rodgers also say they look forward to it.

“I look forward to club 15 every year, especially when we’re playing really crappy golf. I can just go over there and crowd surf if I want, and I plan to crowd surf,” says Duhamel.

Aaron Rodgers says, “they’re a staple to this tournament every year. I’m glad they’re here every time.”

Television Host Carson Daly says this year has a new meaning for him after losing his step father to cancer, also making Club 15 extra special. “The people are great. I love the stand up for cancer, I’m playing for pops, for my dad, and my mom so it’s like family to me,” says Daly.
