Cal Fire battles house fire in Aromas

A two story home caught fire in Aromas causing thousands of dollars in damages.

According to Cal Fire, the fire started around 11:22 a.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Murphy Hill Road. Cal Fire along with crews from North County fire protection arrived and could see smoke coming from the garage. Crews found heavy smoke and found the fire to be burning material on a workbench inside the garage.

Firefighters were able to put the fire out by 11:53 a.m. Cal Fire investigators said the fire was caused by electrical wires.

No one was injured on the property. Cal Fire estimated the fire caused $15,000 in damages.
