Guns and drugs found in Marina home, convicted felon arrested

A convicted felon was arrested at a home in Marina after the California Highway Patrol served a search warrant and found illegal guns and drugs inside.

According to CHP the search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation for narcotics and illegal firearms from multi-agencies including: Monterey County MADCAT (Multi-Agency Detail for Commercial Auto Theft), PRVNT (Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team) and SCARE (Santa Cruz Auto Theft Reduction and Enforcement).

The search warrant took place Wednesday around 7:30 a.m. at a home one mile away from a Marina elementary school. Officials found convicted felon, 34-year-old William Dixon in possession of a semi-automatic rifle, equipped with a silencer and high capacity magazines.

CHP said illegal drugs, heroin and methamphetamine were also found at the home. Charges will be filed on a female resident for the possession of drugs and intent to sell.

Dixon was arrested and booked into the Monterey County Jail.
