Man arrested at Chualar night club after month-long investigation

A Gonzales man was arrested after a month long investigation.

An anonymous tip led Monterey County Sheriff’s Detectives to investigate the Monarca Night Club on Grant street in Chualar.

During that investigation, detectives say they saw multiple people selling controlled substances during the middle of the say out in front of the club.

On Friday, a state search warrant was executed at the night club. 65-year-old Jorge Perez Herrera of Gonzalez was found to be in possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for sale and had nearly $1,000 in U.S. currency.

Herrera was arrested for selling controlled substances and housed in the Monterey County Jail.
