After more than 20 years of planning, crews make room for Scotts Valley Town Center

After more than two decades of planning, construction crews are finally making physical progress on the Scotts Valley Town Center.

Lead by a local developer and contractor, Corbett Wright of CW Land Consultants, Inc. and Rob Stuart of Timberworks, Inc., crews began demolition on the abandon Suburban Propane building on 260 Mount Hermon Road and are now making room for what could be a brew pub and restaurant, though plans still need to be approved by Scotts Valley City Council.

The project, dubbed “The Hangar at Sky Park,” doesn’t stop with just a proposed brew pub restaurant either. The idea calls roughly 15 acres, owner by various public and private groups, of retail, residential and community space.

“We are really excited about it because we think this will be a catalyst, it’s not just our project,” said Wright, standing beside Stuart. “It will tie with what comes next in the rest of the town center and we think this will be the first step in the rest of the town center actually going forward.”

Wright and Stuart are planning to make their application for the proposed brew pub restaurant in the next few months. If everything goes smoothly they anticipate that they will break ground in the spring.

“And have a place where people can drink beer and eat a good meal by Christmas of next year,” Wright said.
