The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the next several days.

Several Central Coast cities have decided to open air-conditioned designated cooling stations for those seeking shelter from the heat. Here is an updated list of locations and hours:

Gonzales

You are reminded to drink plenty of water and regulate time spent working outdoors. Also, never leave children or pets in parked vehicles and remember to check on the young and elderly for signs of dehydration and heat exhaustion.

As a reminder to all residents who are pet owners, please take care to provide adequate shade and water for your animals and ensure that they are properly secured at your homes. If they are being kept in garages or inside your homes, please make sure they have adequate ventilation and relief from the heat.
