MCSO and U.S. Army enter new partnership

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is launching a new partnership with the U.S. Army.

Army Pays notifies veterans nationally about job opportunities with the Sheriff’s Office, anything from working patrol to the records division. There are between 22-25 positions available right now.

If a veteran is interested, the Sheriff’s office will automatically accept their application, but they still have to pass all the other requirements.

“The hope of this whole program is to reach out to the military, bring the veterans onboard who have served their country and want to continue to serve their community and do that here at the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office,” said Cmdr. John Thornburg.

The Sheriff’s Office will officially sign the agreement on Wednesday at the Veterans Transitional Center in Marina.
