King City man arrested after throwing handgun over fence

King City Police Officers were dispatched to a report of suspicious subjects inside the trailer park, located at 101 River Drive early Saturday morning.

When officers arrived, they found 18-year-old Marco Antonio Velazquez, who they say is a known southern gang member, in an alley located between residences. Velazquez was on current probation with search and seizure and no gang contacts indicia.

Officers received information that Velazquez had placed or thrown an unknown item over a fence, as police units first arrived on scene. A search of the area by officers yielded a loaded handgun.

Velazquez was later placed in custody for numerous misdemeanor and felony weapon charges with criminal gang enhancements and violation of probation.
