Two separate shootings in Hollister overnight

Hollister Police are investigating two separate shootings overnight, both just an hour apart.

Police tell us the first shooting happened around 9:00 p.m. Thursday in the area of Versailles and Del Mar Drive. A man and his girlfriend were traveling in a car when they were shot at, possibly by someone in a passing car. The victim vehicle was hit several times. The driver and his girlfriend were not hurt.

Witnesses described a dark colored 2012-2015 hatchback fleeing from the area immediately after the shooting.

About an hour later, shots were fired between two cars driving along East Street near First Street. Police say no one has come forward as a victim.

Officers were able to recover bullet casings and are looking at surveillance footage to try and identify the suspects.

Both shootings are being investigated as gang related. Anyone with information on either shooting is asked to come forward.
