Bonnie Tyler performs “Total Eclipse of the Heart” during solar eclipse

Some cruise vacationers were able to experience a “Total Eclipse of the Heart” on Monday when Bonnie Tyler sung her hit song for the first time ever during a solar eclipse, live for the passengers on board.

The Welsh singer was back on the ’80s power ballad with Joe Jonas’ band DNCE for a performance in an outdoor theater on a ship as part of a “Total Eclipse Cruise.”

The ship left from Florida on Sunday. It sailed through the Caribbean toward St. Maarten on Monday when the moon passed in front of the sun. A total eclipse was viewable in a narrow band across the sea and the ship was positioned in the trajectory of the total solar eclipse.

“Total Eclipse of the Heart” topped the Billboard charts for four weeks in 1983. DNCE is best known for its 2015 hit “Cake by the Ocean.”
