Solar eclipse glasses for sale on Central Coast

The Monterrey Institute for Research in Astronomy- located in Marina, has sold over a thousand pairs so far. Last week they sold out of the glasses. However they do have some to sell early this morning. Mira director, Dr. Bruce Weaver, said they’ll sell one pair per family. “The partial eclipse goes on for over two hours, there’s no terribly excited moment in it. So families can share they can pass the glasses around and people can look,” said Dr. Weaver. MIRA will open at 8:30AM this morning and is located on the corner of 8th Street and 2nd Avenue in Marina. The glasses cost $2.50. They will also have a viewing party there as well.
