Rallying againt racism in Salinas

Several Salinas organizations held a rally against racism Friday.

People gathered at the corner of Boronda and North Main for the rally to stand with Charlottesville after the recent violence there.

LULAC, the sisters and brothers of SEIU, STAND, and other civil rights organizations participated.

Chris Barrera, president of LULAC Salinas said they felt it important to take a stand locally.

“Salinas is getting involved because it’s a national epidemic,” Barrera said, “There’s rallies going on all over the country and being the president of LULAC, I think it’s a good idea to support the cause.”
