First women only car show at Monterey Car Week set for Wednesday

Prancing Ponies Foundation will hold the women only show on Dolores street in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. The firee show will showcase women-owned, eye-catching cars. “I saw a group of young girls. They looked at me in shock, they had never seen a woman driving a Ferrari before. One of them said, ‘I like your car’ and I looked at her and said ‘I expect you to get one too.’ And the look on her face was incredible. I thought I could use this car to inspire young girls to be whatever they want to be,” said Founder Chanterria McGilbra. The Prancing Ponies Foundation is a nonprofit that raises money for its summer Leadership-Abroad Academy for underprivileged girls.
