Two arrested after reports of shots fired in Watsonville

Two men are in custody this morning after police responded to a report of shots being fired in Watsonville Tuesday night.

Watsonville police officers say Ryan DeLanda, 27, and his brother Omar DeLanda, 37, were involved in a fight with Ryan’s girlfriend just before 10 p.m. on the 100 block of Elm Street.

As the two men left the scene several shots were fired into the air.

About an hour later officers located the car stopped in the area of Riverside and Lakeview Drive. Ryan DeLanda was inside along with Kenneth Minnehan, 32.

Officers searched the car and found two loaded firearms, one that had been reported stolen.

Ryan DeLanda and Minnehan were both booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on several charges including possession of a stolen firearm.

Omar DeLanda was not located.
