New Mexico man arrested for threatening to shoot up Dominican Hospital

UPDATE 8/3/2017 10:12 a.m. A 63-year-old New Mexico man of Albuquerque is in custody after making threats to shoot up Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, Tuesday.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that led to the arrest of Judson Swallow in Southern California.

The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office assisted the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office in the arrest.

Swallow remains in custody at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, California. He is being charged with making criminal threats.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, an unknown man called dispatch around 9:53 a.m. Tuesday threatening to shoot up Dominican Hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office said the man claimed the Dominican Hospital mistreated his wife and he planned to bring a firearm to assault people there.

Due to the threat of violence, deputies responded to the call but were not able to locate the suspect.

The Sheriff’s Office is following up on leads and they said it’s an active investigation they are taking very seriously.
