Groundbreaking for new Mann Packing facility

Mann Packing opened a new processing facility in Gonzales Wednesday as part of its 130,000 square foot expansion project.

250 people will work at the vegetable supplier’s new facility. While Mann Packing’s Salinas location will continue to process fresh vegetables, 65 percent of the company’s manufacturing volume will be relocated to the new facility in Gonzales.

Construction on the Gonzales facility is scheduled for early 2018 and should be complete by spring of next year.

The facility was designed with the sustainability in mind and will use a windmill turbine to supply energy for heating and cooling.

“We are proud to announce our new home in Gonzales and excited to be part of this thriving business community,” said Lorri Koster, chairman & CEO at Mann’s. “This project represents the beginning of a partnership and a culmination of years of planning to create a facility which will serve as an anchor for the company’s fresh processing needs.”
