Truck flips in Southern California road rage crash

A morning commute turned into a shocking road rage encounter on a highway in southern California.

The road rage incident escalated between a motorcyclist and a driver on a Santa Clarita Freeway Wednesday morning.

Video shows the motorcyclist catch up to a car and kick the side of it. The driver started to swerve into the biker but then swerved into a barrier. The car careens across two lanes hitting a pickup truck which caused it to flip over.

“It’s clear there was an altercation between the motorcycle and the sedan, the Nissan sedan.//We don’t have the full picture,” said the California Highway Patrol.

CHP believes the motorcyclist and the driver had been shouting at each other before the crash and that the driver of the car may have crossed into the carpool lane illegally moments before the camera started recording.

“It could have been a tragedy for anyone involved. We’re lucky no one died,” said CHP.

Highway Patrol investigators said they’re looking for the motorcyclist who took off from the scene. They said the truck driver only suffered minor injuries.

Investigators said they will speak with witnesses to figure out how the confrontation began.
