80’s star, Corey Feldman comes back to Santa Cruz

The 1987 hit movie, The Lost Boys, has deep ties with Santa Cruz. Now, 30 years later, actor Corey Feldman who played “Edgar Frog” in the movie is returning to Santa Cruz. This time, Feldman will take to the stage. Corey Feldman’s Angelic 2 Summer Tour will appear at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz on Friday, June 16.

Corey Feldman and the Angels’ performance on the Today Show in September 2016 received a brutal response from the public that Feldman described as bullying. Feldman took to Facebook Live in a tearful defense of his performance saying his group just wanted to help girls who, “are kind of lost and needing to find their way.”

The iconic movie was filmed in multiple locations throughout Santa Cruz, including the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Atlantis Fantasy World, shops on the Municipal Wharf and the train trestle connecting the Boardwalk to East Cliff.

Free Movies on the Beach return to the Boardwalk on Wednesday, June 21 kicking off with a screening of The Lost Boys. In celebration of the 30th anniversary there will be vampire-themed specials all throughout the park.
