Shooting at Santa Cruz Flea Market

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, a shooting occurred at the Santa Cruz Flea Market on Saturday in the 2200 block of Soquel Drive.

The shooting happened near the entrance of the flea market at about 9:53 a.m.

The victim was shot at least one time while inside his vehicle and shortly after drove to the hospital.

The victim was shot at least one time in the upper torso where he sustained non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and later released from the hospital.

During the investigation the sheriff’s office determined that the lone shooter and the victim know each other.

The shooter has not been located and is still at large. Investigators believe this is an isolated case and the suspect does not pose a threat to the community.

Detectives are following up on leads which include viewing surveillance footage from the area.
