Three arrested on gun, parole and drug charges

Three men were arrested last Thursday in Marina on charges ranging from parole and drug violations to possession of an assault weapon.

According to police, a Marina traffic officer saw two vehicles speed away in opposite directions from a shopping center in the 300 block of Reservation Road round 1:54 p.m..

The officer stopped one of the vehicles, a silver Toyota Tundra. Inside the car was a loaded 30-round Intratec Tec-9 assault pistol.

The driver, Christopher Moreno, 21, of Salinas was arrested for possession of an assault weapon, possession of a concealed weapon, possession of a loaded weapon and possession of a high capacity magazine.

The second vehicle, a silver Nissan Maxima, was stopped by another officer who arrested the driver, Adrian Aguilar, 20, of Salinas, for parole violation. A passenger, Joshua Rojas, 50, of Salinas was also arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant and marijuana possession.

Moreno and Aguilar were booked at the Monterey County Jail. Rojas was released from the Marina Police Department.
